Deep Roots

Even as the tree sleeps in winter, in its dreams it plans for the longer, warmer days that will come as the seasons cycle.

Shallow roots running along the surface freeze in winter’s chill, but those that dig deep, that can draw nutrients from the ground beneath the frost line still prepare even as they slumber, for the faith of nature is strong.
