The Outcome is Irrelevant

“It doesn’t matter if the rod is or isn’t bent.”

– Justin Morgan

Unless you are fishing for dinner, whether you catch a fish or not is irrelevant.

Fishing is about everything other than the outcome.  It is about the time, the peace, the weather and the solitude or company.  It is about the time spent, not the money or the production.

Yes, it is always great to hook a big one.  It is always exciting to get the bite and have the fight and land the prize.

But in the end, catching the fish doesn’t matter.
