“A great leader will never sacrifice the people for the numbers.” – Simon Sinek
All too often we see that the employees of an organization are seen as fungible cogs, expenses that can be removed or added at a moment’s notice with no switching cost or impact beyond the budget.
In tough times, the most valuable resource in an organization is the HUMAN resource. The knowledge, the creativity, the resiliency. The people will solve the problems, not machines or buildings or computers or cash on a balance sheet.
During rough patches, a great leader will communicate to their people the honest truth and ask them to help solve the issues, because that is the best solution.
