“If you had one shot or one opportunity

To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment

Would you capture it, or just let it slip?”  Eminem Lose Yourself

There is an old story of a young hunter, out for tigers.  He comes across one in a clearing, crouched ready to pounce.  The tiger jumps at him and the shot goes low, the tiger leaps over the hunter and runs off into the woods.  Both have survived.

The hunter missed his one shot.  He was afraid, unsteady.  He hadn’t practiced enough.

Most of all, he was scared because he had not done everything possible to prepare, to test himself so that when the time came, he was ready to perform.

I have yet to get the one shot I want, but I prepare every single day for it so when it happens I will hit my mark.

As the saying goes: sweat more in practice, bleed less in battle.  The hunter was lucky to not get mauled, but he may never get his shot again.  Make sure you don’t miss your one shot.
