Everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die, because the transition from where we are now to what we can become is painful. It involves breaking down of body and mind, a recreation after re-examination of our beliefs and notions. It is difficult, a struggle to become better.
Some lessons are painful, a literal slap across the face or a punch to the gut that leaves us gasping for air. Yet as any combat sports participant can demonstrate, it makes us better being willing to face these fearful things and let them rock our world.
