Rights and Responsibilities

“Freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought.” -Pope John Paul II

There are no Rights without equally powerful and balancing Responsibilities.

Freedom is dangerous because an individual could choose to abuse the Ring of Gyges or the credit card.

Even though we have the capability to do something does not mean we should do it. Freedom is a burden because the ability to chose our actions means that  we have to accept the consequences of said actions.  Do not choose to abuse this power, but instead use it for the greatest good, which simultaneously is good for us as individuals.
