“Half the pain in human life comes from gazing in mirrors.” — Marty Rubin

Comparison is dangerous.  Comparing ourselves to others is the path to despair because we compare our real-life movie with all of its highs and lows to their perfect Instagram picture of a moment.

~“they’re rich”

~“they have a better life”

~“I wish I had their looks”

~“everything is perfect with them and I’d trade anything to be like them”

~“if I worked harder I could be them!”

~”I need to lose three pounds and get abs”

~”Just one round of lip fillers so I’m still sexy”

As Hemingway and many martial arts masters say: compare yourself with the you of before only.

Become better, but for you.
