“Life is like a piano; the white keys represent happiness and the black show sadness. But as you go through life’s journey, remember that the black keys also create music.” Ehssan
Life is not quite so black and white as the keys, but it is filled with music both somber and jubilant and everywhere in between.
Everyone wishes they could be happy all the time but joy declines into hedonism and ennui if not contrasted with pain and anguish. We could not appreciate the brilliant day if not for the dark sacred night, and constant sunshine without rain yields a desert.
Life is not all cupcakes, because it’s not healthy. Having broccoli and spinach and healthy proteins lets us appreciate dessert more. Same way that the joyful moments are that much more if there is drudgery and hard work and disappointment and sadness that we must abide and overcome. A single note for ten minutes is not music, it quickly becomes annoying and then torturous. The changes, the patterns and variability of the tones is what makes music and moves our spirit. So too with our emotions, and in the end even a sad song is beautiful.
