Fall of the Soul

“Notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature.”  Friedrich Nietzsche

The wind turns colder and the sky seems brighter against the leaves as their hues shift from the green of summer to the palette of reds and yellows and brown.

You can start to feel the ache in your bones and the days grow shorter faster, the morning coming later and the dusk earlier.

Mortality hangs in the air.

The moments of warmth from the sun are appreciated more as they fade like memories, losing their strength among the shadows.
