“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” – Angela Schwindt
Anyone that has been a parent has had that “Oh $h!T” moment when you realize that suddenly a tiny helpless blind little thing is 100% dependent upon you. And you aren’t ready for it.
But somehow we figure it out, and even if they sometimes have mismatched socks or cereal with vanilla coffee creamer for breakfast, for the most part we can figure it out.
And as soon as we figure it out the situation changes, whether it is having another kid or something happens at school or we lose our job or get divorced. We figure it out.
All the while those little babies are getting bigger and teaching us about love and sacrifice and patience and all the other lessons we never realized we needed to learn. About how to juggle everything, and eliminate thangs that we thought were important but not as important as making it to soccer practice or First Lego League or the recital.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Sometimes in diapers.
