Mental Vacation

“The vacation we often need is freedom from our own mind.” – Jack Adam Weber

The hippie saying of “Wherever you go, there you are” is more true than they knew.

We see the world as we are as opposed to how it is, so even if you leave rainy London you bring the clouds and darkness with you if you have a negative mindset.  Changing the weather could maybe alter the individual’s outlook a bit, but the majority of their happiness (or lack thereof) is internally generated and as such has little to do with the location.

In my world it is almost always Happy Hour.  Not because of 2 for 1 drinks, but because of the exuberance and the positive vibes, the excitement for the moment be it 7:30 in the morning as I write away or 8:00 at night with my Scouts.  It’s five o’clock somewhere, might as well be 5:00 in your mind and as soon as you finish the one little task you are doing you will have fun.
