Imagine Yourself a Hero

“Halloween is not only about putting on a costume, but it’s about finding the imagination and costume within ourselves.”  Elvis Duran

As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes.  Sometimes it is just the average kid with the courage to stand up to the bully (at work or on the playground) and say NO.

That everyday hero had to have the fortitude to face a stronger force and risk pain to do what was right, and they probably didn’t do it on the spur of the moment but rather that courage grew from smaller seeds planted inside their imagination.

CS Lewis proclaimed “Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.”  Arm them with visions of moral strength and fill their hearts with the strength of heroes to stand against the variety of dragons and bullies they will encounter.  Train them to stand up against evil and for themselves and their beliefs.

Imagine what your life would be if you had the courage to stand up for what you believe in.
