“Disappointment is a sort of bankruptcy – the bankruptcy of a soul that expends too much in hope and expectation.” -Eric Hoffer
There is nothing more draining nor disheartening than to pour your life energy into something that does not give back to you.
That empty relationship with the taker that never gives back to your soul.
The company that squeezes everything it can from you and tosses away the drained dry husk.
A bank account needs deposits or it will eventually be overdrawn. A person needs the same, others giving them energy and attention and affection so that they can replenish. People are not self-refilling ATMs with the currency of positive energy the way a spring fills a lake. We get drained and need to be topped up with the emotions and support of others before we run dry.
