Embrace the Process

“The process is the foundation of success.  Trust it, embrace it, and let it guide you towards greatness.”  -John Addison

Trust the process.  Sports fans of rebuilding teams have heard this for decades, and often it has brought about championships.  Even in star driven endeavors like sports, a process of development can be the difference between an Allstar and a bust.  A good process does not guarantee wins and championships, but can be the differentiating factor in the end.

The process is more important than the individual production for artists.  Anyone can have a moment of divine inspiration then write a tremendous line or draw one.  But to do it over and over, layering paint or sentences on top of each other to create a work that inspires for generations requires repetition of excellence and this comes not from one offs and luck but a consistent approach of disciplined, refined effort.  Those that change within their field and remain in the limelight for years and decades understand how to run a system that lets them focus and work and create consistently.  They have a process that is as unique as their style and as critical to their success as raw talent is, and they give themselves over to the process trusting that the work will flow out of them.

Innovation is an art, and as such there is science behind it that empowers certain organizations to continuously originate and launch new products and approaches to solve problems.

Successful salespeople follow a process to ensure consistent quality and maximize their potential.  Those that claim that they prefer to go by feel and with the flow consistently underperform, no matter what industry or product they are selling.  The process increases production and revenue.

Trust the process and it will guide you to great results.
