At the end of the sales quarter there is almost always a tremendous push and people either miraculously just make or heartbreakingly just miss their quota. Yet if they had focused and pushed even half as hard earlier in the period, they could have hit their target a few weeks earlier without the stress and anxiety.
The student pulling an all-nighter before the exam is exhibiting great effort, but if they had taken an hour a day throughout the term they could be having a good night sleep and less misery and panic and walk into the exam with confidence because they have truly learned the material.
The ability to play the first quarter like it’s the last minutes of Game 7, even when the entire season still lies ahead, is the mindset of the elite. This approach is the best way to blow through production targets and be well ahead of deadlines by approaching each day as not just another day but THE DAY, the one in which we make a difference.
