Tireless Work

“Who runs for pleasure never tires.”  -Dean Karnazes

Writing a book is like a marathon.  It requires month after month of daily efforts, of sacrifices and changes in behavior to push forward.

Some days are a struggle and a slog, others you fly and it is effortless.

Even a bad day when it is difficult is better than skipping the work, because it adds up.

If you love what you do, be it writing or sales or teaching, you may be exhausted and drained from the effort but you don’t stop because your heart keeps going, the love of what you do keeping you going no matter the conditions.

Running hard is not a punishment, it is a celebration of your capabilities whether that is running simulations for work or running a scout group.  The pleasure overcomes the pain and fuels you for more. Yes, you can and should be drained from your efforts.  But you are not emotionally spent, just in need of recharging the battery overnight to get back at what you love.
