Autumn Brilliance

“As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see.”  -Vincent Van Gogh

Autumn in the Northeast is unlike any other season, unlike any other time of year or place on earth as Mother Nature opens her paint box and splashes color across the mountains and vales in a display of vibrant beauty unparalleled anywhere.

Fall is the last burst of glory before the darkness falls, the supernova of colors across the entire spectrum popping out everywhere there is life, a celebration before the hibernation.

Mere words utterly fail to describe the scene, to capture the radiance of the sunlight through every hue of gold and orange and fire still hanging on the trees, masterpieces of tincture, pieces of pigmentation evolving day by day in uncountable number and variety without care for simple humans.

The fleeting season of ecstatic imagery lives in the soul better than on the page, more in memory and emotion than on the wall.  Revel in the glory of the season while you may, and recall the autumnal awe in spite of the shortening days.
