Flowers = Hope

“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.” Lady Bird Johnson

Flowers come from a seed or bulb that has been buried, cut off from the light.

It is watered by the rain.

It draws nourishment from the decaying bits in its environment.

It must crack itself open, exposing the most delicate and fragile parts to the elements, then expend all its energy to push out a shoot and crack the surface, exposing itself to animals and other dangers that could cut it off.

It struggles against gravity, rising above the level and the dirt that helped give it birth.

It reaches towards the heavens and the sunlight.

Then it opens further, putting out vulnerable and beautiful petals.

Flowers are the embodiment of hope.
