“Education is the difference between wishing you could help other people and being able to help them.” —Russell M. Nelson
When I was a graduate student, I was doing an internship and was standing in a hospital observing. As I had no medical training, I couldn’t help any of the people that streamed in. I was helpless and worse incapable of helping others. It was Hell.
A little knowledge lets you help people a little bit. Deeper understanding allows you to more fundamentally positively impact others, and mastery of a subject allows you to unlock the hidden secrets thereof and truly alter other’s world for the better.
Study broadly and deeply. Not for what it gives you but for what it allows you to give others.
