“The best place in the world to ski is where you’re skiing that day.”
– Warren Miller
The present moment is the most important.
Those who have chosen sobriety know that tomorrow does not matter, that staying true to their choice today is what is important and all they can control.
Zen practitioners focus on the eternal now, this moment in which being fully present as the way to be truly alive. Whether washing dishes, carrying water, or writing it is this moment, this movement that is the most important ever.
Be aware of the future for it will arrive when it does, and it is determined by the actions of the moment. But waste no energy worrying about tomorrow, instead expend that energy in the now so that the future that flows out of the current situation is the best that it can be because you have made THIS point in time the best that you can.
