“December is a time to reflect on the blessings of the past year and to embrace the opportunities of the coming one.” -Oprah Winfrey
Almost every organization does end of year assessments. Doesn’t matter if it is a charity, a for-profit business, or a partnership (marriage, lifting or running partners, best buddies), the end of the year is when we look at what happened and why and where we can go next year.
Do a SWOT analysis.
Strengths (what do you bring to the table that you do well or have to contribute).
Weaknesses (where you aren’t as good as you need to be or are lacking resources).
Opportunities (external areas that could be useful or profitable).
Threats (external dangers, whether regulatory or economic or people).
Take some time to evaluate so that you can appreciate what you have, plan for what could happen, and work towards what could be.
