“As long as there is chocolate, there will be happiness.” – Wayne Gerard Trotman
Most of us have memories that involve hot chocolate on a snowy day, or a birthday cake, or grandma making chocolate chip cookies. Chocolate is the premiere sweet flavor in our culture, and for good reason.
Chocolate contains tryptophan, an amino acid that is used to create serotonin, the happiness hormone. So after you eat chocolate, you are biologically primed to be happier.
There is also phenylethalylalaine, which promotes feelings of attraction (hence the reason to give it to your crush) which also combines with the dopamine in the brain to act as a natural anti-depressant.
Combine with the stimulants caffeine and theobromine and you have a potent biochemical cocktail for pleasure.
Chocolate makes the world a happier place.
