Competition is a spotlight that reveals your flaws and shortcomings. Competitors and enemies are as valuable as friends because they will exploit your weaknesses, so inform us better than sugar coated platitudes from those that like us.
We Irish have a saying: a good friend is the best mirror. My closest friends are brutally honest to me because their tough love is how they exhibit that they care and want the absolute best version of me, and that best version will not come about by letting me ignore my flaws or harm myself through laziness or pride.
