If you were to look at the brain scan of a cocaine addict about to get their fix and someone in love, they would appear surprisingly similar.
But whereas the addict burns their neuroreceptors out, a person in love can remain in love for decades even if the form and intensity thereof evolves. We can literally stay in love for a lifetime and instead of destroying us it empowers us, heals us on a cellular level, and gives us purpose that strengthens in a way no other thing on earth can.
Be addicted. Give in to your love and let its sickness actually make you not just well but better.
