The Liar’s Tool

“The trust of the innocent is the liar’s most useful tool.” Stephen King

The root of the word “con man” is “confidence”, where the shyster gains the confidence and trust of the unsuspecting and uses it to line their own pockets by taking from their mark.  It is the inability of the individual that is taken advantage of to comprehend that someone would lie and take their money that makes them vulnerable to the lies of the deceiver.

It is the innocence of the spouse that is cheated on, their dismissal of the signs of infidelity, that allow the cheater to cat around behind their partner’s back.

The halo often hides horns.

Unless warned and trained, children do not believe in evil until they encounter it, and then it is too late to protect them.

Do not become jaded, but do not remain naïve.
